Do I need my own hunting license and stamps?
Yes. You're responsible for holding a valid Idaho hunting license, Idaho HIP (Harvest Information Program) registration, and a Federal Duck Stamp where required. We can point you to where to get each, but purchasing them is on you before the hunt.
Do you provide shotgun shells / ammunition?
Bring your own non-toxic (steel or approved alternative) shot — it's federally required for waterfowl and we don't stock ammunition. Let us know in advance if you need help sourcing some locally.
What if we don't see many birds that day?
We scout ahead of every hunt and hunt the best water or field we've got that week, but migration timing, weather, and bird behavior are outside anyone's control. We don't guarantee a harvest — we guarantee a real, well-run hunt on water we've actually scouted.
Can I bring my own retriever?
With advance approval, yes. Let us know when booking — we need to know ahead of time, and your dog needs to be steady and under control in a blind with other hunters and dogs.
Are youth hunters allowed?
Yes, subject to Idaho's youth hunting age and supervision requirements. A parent or guardian must sign the liability waiver for any hunter under 18.
What's your weather cancellation policy?
If we cancel due to unsafe conditions (lightning, high wind, ice), you get a full refund or a free reschedule, your choice. See the full Booking & Cancellation Policy sent with your booking confirmation for the complete terms.
Do I need hunting experience?
No — we've guided everyone from first-timers to experienced waterfowlers. Just come with your firearm safety fundamentals down; the guide handles the rest, including a safety briefing before every hunt.
What's included in the price?
Guiding, the decoy spread, blinds, calling, and bird cleaning after the hunt. Not included: your license/stamps, ammunition, food, and gratuity. See the Hunts page for current pricing.
