Hunting the edges of a real refuge
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge and Lake Lowell hold some of the highest waterfowl concentrations in the Treasure Valley through fall migration — which means the private ag fields and approved hunting water around the refuge boundary get worked hard by birds moving on and off the sanctuary.
We hunt private ground adjacent to the refuge, not refuge sanctuary land itself, timed around bird movement between the protected water and the surrounding fields.
What to know
- Refuge-adjacent private fields
- Reservoir edge hunts, water levels permitting
- Best mid-to-late season as birds stack up
